About Us
Numo Institute for Competency Development (NICD), Member of Nama Group, is a private company co-owned by Nama Holding (Formerly known as Electricity Holding Company SAOG) and Nama Shared Services (NSS). It has been established to bridge the gap between the existing capabilities of its workforce and the required capabilities.
NICD is based in Muscat and aims at providing a shared resource center for all Nama Group subsidiaries meeting its stakeholder’s expectations in terms of its ability to:
Provide a range of services to ensure that both corporate training and employees’ individual needs are effectively addressed.
Propose training solutions which are both innovative on content and methodologies.
Seek the highest recognition available for each training solution.
NICD’s training solutions are not only focused on the competencies related to the tasks to be performed but also on the work environment

Nama Holding (formerly known as Electricity Holding Company SAOC) is a closed Omani joint stock company registered under the Commercial Companies Law of Oman, on 19th October 2002. The establishment and operations of the company are governed by the provisions of the Law for the Regulation and Privatization of Electricity and Water Sector (The Sector Law) promulgated by Royal Decree 78/2004, amended by Royal Decree 59/2009 and the last amended by Royal Decree 47/2013.
The Company is a 100% government owned entity, having an authorized, issued and paid-up capital of 2,000,000 shares of OMR 1 per share. The shares are fully owned by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). The principal activities of the Company comprise the management of government investments in, and the privatization of certain central services to its subsidiary companies. As a strategic leader, NH plays an important role in setting direction and establishing group policies.

NICD Aims
NICD aim to equip and inspire Omani utility (electricity, water and waste water) companies to practice the highest standards of the profession, develop their capacities in the utilities industry and encourage Omani talents to realize their full potential. NICD has the ambition to promote career opportunities, attract talent, develop potential, and anticipate tomorrow’s business needs for a sustainable Omanisation process in the sector. This can be achieved through developing competencies for better drinking water, wastewater and provide safe electricity services in the Sultanate.
NICD aims to create virtual and face to face learning ecosystems to maximize the development opportunities for all utilities sector talent in the region. Furthermore, NICD aims to become the Standards and testing body of choice across the sector, preparing professional employees for registration requirements.

Logo Inspired by three elements:
The letter “Noun” is the first letter of the word Numo.
The curve of “Noun” represents a human character raising hands to celebrate success.
The right section of the logo reflects the pillars of the group’s sustainability policy, which covers: Economic, Environmental and Social components. It also reflects the continuous movement of turbine.
