About OCCI
Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded on May 15, 1973. It is considered a private institution of public benefit that aims to organize, develop, defend and represent commercial interests in various fields.
The chamber have legal personality, it’s headquartered is in Muscat Governorate, and it has a branch in every governorate of the Sultanate.
The Chamber’s General Assembly is concerned with the following:
Discussing the annual report on the Chamber’s business, the auditor’s report for the ended fiscal year and approve them.
Considering the Chamber’s General Assembly Members ’proposals submitted to the council before its meeting.
Appointment of an auditor.
Board of Directors:
The Board exercises the competencies and powers that guarantee it to manage all the Chamber’s affairs, as indicated by the executive regulations.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors shall have all the necessary powers to supervise, control and follow up the Chamber’s exercise of its competencies and the achievement of its objectives, it has in particular the following:
Drawing up the general policy and following up on its implementation
Approving the strategic plan of the Chamber
Approving the Chamber organizational structure
Approving the Chamber’s financial and administrative regulations and other regulations
Approving the Chamber’s draft budget for the fiscal year and its audited final account
Approving Chamber loans and financial facilities
Forming an advisory council and temporary committees from among the chamber’s members, members of economic societies, former chairmen and members of the chamber’s board of directors, and others.
Executive Office:
The Executive Office discusses many issues related to developing the performance of the Chamber executive body as well as dealing with many events and activities at locally and internationally that the Chamber is invited to participate in and contribute to.
