According to the law governing the order of the craft (craft regulations), the roofer and carpenters guild in Cologne has the task of promoting the common commercial interests of its members. We have two main tasks in the foreground: on the one hand, advising and promoting member companies in all matters relating to the management of a roofing or carpentry business. On the other hand, it is the representation of common interests vis-à-vis politics, administration and business. A number of masters in our guild have received further training in a course lasting several weeks and passed the examination to become an energy consultant in the roofing trade. The energy consultants are now in a position to advise in the field of resource-saving energy use and structural thermal insulation in the entire roof and outer wall area, including doors, windows and so on, and to develop specific modernization concepts, also taking economic aspects into account. The trend towards rising energy prices in particular represents a very special challenge for every homeowner. Those who seek comprehensive advice here will usually be able to identify great energy-saving potential. In addition to the modernization of the heating system, this includes, in particular, the improvement of thermal insulation and the use of solar energy via solar thermal or photovoltaics. Here, too, the master roofer is the right contact, because he is the specialist for the installation of solar systems on the roof or in the facade.
