The founder and owner of our solid Thuringian company is Andreas Groppe, born in Greußen in 1958. In July 1990 he dared to take the courageous step into self-employment and founded AGRO Holzhandel with only 5,000 DM start-up capital. He leased land from the Greußen agricultural cooperative, built a garden shed on it and started trading in wood there.
Shortly afterwards, he was offered the opportunity to take over the old sawmill in Clingen, with which he - after renovation - could usefully expand the AGRO range of services. With a lot of commitment, determination and tireless work, Andreas Groppe ensured the continuous solidification and steady growth of his company.
